Website!

ITS DONE!!

What an ordeal, however, its done! I have a website! It is not LIVE yet, however I will let you know when it is! I will be updating it regularly so please check it out regularly.

Now, for more news. What a terrible week end its been. I have cousins who's houses have been flooded in Bundaberg; Cousins who's houses were destroyed in a tornado in Burrum Heads; Cousins who have been affected by rising waters in Brisbane. I have been glued to the news and facebook to see how everyone is faring.

In amongst this tragedy, Telstra cables were washed away near Kingaroy. This affected mobile, internet and STD services for everyone north of Gladstone. I am quite disappoointed at how people have gotten angry with Telstra over 'crap' service. I really don't understand what people expect? Telstra did send repair men out in the horrible weather to get services restored as quickly as possible. However some people don't see that as something to be grateful for. I have to say, that the people who are making the most noise are 'westerners', which really upsets me.

In addition to the whingers about Telstrs, there are also whingers about delayed/ cancelled flights. FAR OUT people, would you really want to fly in that weather... seriously.

Anyway, I am tired, bloated, hungry, have changes in my taste and smell. Other than a couple of headaches, I have been feeling quite well.

Anyway, best go and finish sorting out this website!!

outing

AJ, Baby E and I went out this morning. We went to a favourite coffee shop for breakfast and then we did a spot of shopping and then we went to Lollypops. Lollypops is an indoor play area for childerberries of all ages. It was full of childerberries of all ages and their parents. It was hot and noisy. However Baby E LOVED it, which made it all worthwhile.

After the big outing, I came home and worked on some pics and rested whilst AJ went grocery shopping. I am tired and bloated today. I seem to be bloating more and more each day. I am taking that as a good sign- without getting too excited!!

Anyway, here are some pics of the day

I bought a new brolly!

Baby E got a new toy box

Such a happy boy... when he gets his way!

Have a great evening everyone!

RAIN

This rain is such a welcomed relief after the dreadful heat of the past few weeks. However it also means that I cannot get out and about to take any pics.

The highway was cut on Monday at Sth Johnston and it is cut today at Ingham! I hope some of this goes west as we need it BADLY!

Today I am feeling well, but bloated. The medication really does play havoc with my system! This morning we went out for breakfast and when I stood up, my waist band was folded over and tucked under my belly (sort of) due to the bloating! Oh well... its just part and parcel of the big picture.

I am going to share another 'vague' story. One time when I was going through treatment, before the embryo transfer, I was required to provide meals for about 5 men working for us. This meant breakfast, smoko, lunch, nibbles after work and dinner. One day I decided to make berry friands for smoko. Friands require melted butter, so I put the measured amount in the microwave to melt. Whilst the butter was melting, I continued mixing the other ingredients together. When I was happy that everything was mixed well, I spooned the batter into the friand tin, placed it in the preheated oven and set the timer. I then left the kitchen to do something else. Upon my return to the kitchen, I noticed that there was 'something' in the microwave... THE MELTED BUTTER!!! So, I bundled up these butterless friands and drove the 10klms to the cattle yards where the men were working. They are always so polite and grateful for any food that they didn't say a thing, however they were all drinking ALOT whilst eating these friands. Mr Fabulous of course told me they were lovely and didn't need the butter. I am still not convinced on the honesty of his statement!!

No pics today- sorry!

Have a fabulous afternoon

mulberries

Well... I'm vague, tired and HUNGRY! That means that the medication has certainly taken hold!

I had two mulberries transferred yesterday. That's what we refer to our embryos as! Transfer day really is an awful day. Apparently embryos don't like soap, deodorant, perfume, shampoo etc etc, so that means that I have be legs up, all 'a la naturale'. I HATE IT! However, I am sure my Doctor is immune to IT all.

After being through IVF, I will be fine when delivering my babies. I am used to lieing with my 'best' angle to the world! First, my Dr 'prepares' me, then the embryologist gets the mulberries into a long 'straw-like' contraption. This can take awhile and all this time you're still showing your best angle. Then, after they've been transferred via the long straw-like contraption, the embryologist goes back to the 'incubator' and checks that they haven't escaped from the straw and decided to stay put. All up, I think I was legs up for about 10mins, all while my Dr is holding the speculum in place! I nearly got a fit of the giggles yesterday! So, I started some small talk... "Are your kids looking forward to going back to school?", "What's with this heat?"

After 'the' transfer, I am kept laying down for about 15-20 minutes. Then the nurse comes in and tells me what I should and shouldn't do. No heavy lifting, drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest, drink sustagen and gatorade every day, increase protein intake, watch for constipation! What I get out of all that is that I can eat plenty of steak and rest ALOT!

Vagueness is probably the worst side effect. I was half to the baptism I had to go to Saturday, 1.5hrs from where I am currently, and I realised that I left all the medication that needs to be refrigerated in the fridge at my friends house. SO, I had to turn around and come back. THEN... upon leaving the motel on Sunday morning, i left my medication in the fridge in my room! FAR OUT!! Luckily my in-laws were driving through Townsville, so they very kindly brought my medication to me. I have plenty more 'vague' stories to share with you, so I might do that over the course of the next few entries.

ANYWAY, here are a couple of pics from the Baptism on Saturday

Have a lovely afternoon xx

Summer

GOODNESS it's been hot!

I have been waking early in an attempt to get out to take photos before it gets too hot. I was all set to get to The Strand for sunrise yesterday, however upon waking IT WAS RAINING! It was lovely to hear it and I instantly fell straight back to sleep!

I did still get out and about around 6.30am in an attempt to get some good shots from Castle Hill. It was a strange morning! Once I reached the top of the hill, I could see a storm over Magnetic Island and a few more on the horizon. I managed to only get TWO shots before I was engulfed in fog! It lifted not too long after it arrived, however that is how the morning continued! It was rather odd, especially for this time of the year.

I then went to The Strand to get some more pics before catching up with friends for breakky. I love, I mean, I REALLY love going out for breakfast. It is such a fantastic way to start the day.

This morning, AJ took her beautiful son, my godson, to the pool for a swim. I tagged along in the home to get some good pics. It is very difficult to get good pics of a very busy little boy!

This is a shot of the hire boats and flag advising not to swim in the ocean due to stingers.

Storm cloud over Magnetic Island.

The storm starting to clear.

And to finish, three pics of the little man.

Have a great evening!

Granddad

When I left my in-laws on Sunday, I visited my Grandfather. He is back home after spending 3 weeks, respite in the care facility. It is good to see him home, however it is probably best, long term, for him to be in some form of facility. He has always been a strong, solid man so it is a little daunting to see him slowly deteriorating. I do have to give credit where credit is due, he has beaten the odds- many times! He underwent a triple bypass when I was only about 12 and he has suffered heart problems ever since. He has had a number of serious heart attacks where he has literally been 'dead', however he has 'come back' without any long term repercussions to his brain, or the rest of his body. He turns 86 this year and he is as sharp as a tack!

My Uncle has been researcing the family tree. It is wonderful to see Granddad light up and talk about yesteryear! I found out, that his father designed the mould and made the first, cement laundry tubs! How amazing! I am hoping to spend a bit more time with Granddad during the course of this year to find out more about the family.

As I've been slack, I will post a few pics today. I will share the photo a day photos from Saturday to now, and I will also share a pic that I took at Rex Lookout on my way from Julatten on Sunday.

Mr Fabulous surprised me with a lovely bunch of flowers!

A lovely little lantern!

2013...ALREADY??

Where has the time gone? It has been AGES since I was last here, however it seems like it was only the other day!

Life always seems to speed up around December and things, and people, get crazy! I know we succumb to the craziness that marks the end of the year as we want to get 'everything done'. But seriously, how can you get 'everything done'... What is everything? Couple that with a mercy trip to Cairns to see my Grandfather, getting gastro and then getting home, organising Christmas lunch and then preparing for visitors and the New Year party that we seem to hold every year (if we're home!) and starting medication for the next cycle of IVF. Lets just say, I feel like I am only just catching my breath!

I have been back on the medication for 17 days today. I am tired, bloated, affected by the heat and my belly looks like a pin cushion, dotted with bruises from the injections I have to have every day. I am on injectable asprin as a part of my medication regime and as it is a blood thinner, I bruise very easily. So not only do I have a black and blue belly, I have bruises all over where I have accidentally bumped into something. OH THE JOYS! It will however, be worth the pain and discomfort if we are successful!

In amongst everything else that has occurred in the past month, I have been taking photos... OF COURSE! I just love it. AND I have registered a domain name and downloaded software to build a web site. Stay tuned folks, as you will be the first know when it is up and running!

When I was in Cairns the week end before Christmas, I went to the Esplanade and took some terrific night shots of the city scape, the lagoon and the Christmas tree.

The first image is of the Cairns skyline with a plane that has taken off; the second is of the Christmas tree with a line made by a scooter that had lights in the wheels; the third is of the lagoon and the Christmas tree and the last shot is of the walkway along the Esplanade.

The photo a day challenge for Friday was water. I was in Townsville so everyone thought that I would post a pic of the ocean. I dislike predictability, so I posted this shot instead

Have a great day! My Mother-in-law and I are off for breakfast in Port Douglas.
